Isolation is often a consequence of dementia. People in the early stages of dementia can still do things but may have lost their confidence and motivation. Carefully selected volunteers become a “friend” to a person with dementia and/or their carer and will visit for an hour once a week.
Our trained team offer a client focused environment where activities are carefully selected to encourage and stimulate the well being of individuals. This can be music, crafts, or indoor games such as bowls or skittles. Tea coffee and biscuits are served on arrival and a two-course lunch is available at a reasonable charge. Transport is also arranged.
One to one support for people with dementia who still have abilities to do things. The support worker will spend a minimum of two hours per week with the person to encourage and support them in activities of daily living. This may be shopping, cooking, gardening, hobbies and interests.
