Support Groups

Support groups provide a social environment, which enables carers to continue to take part in community life and have the opportunity to gain support through the shared experience of others. A programme of social events is arranged throughout the year. Carers may take the person whom they are caring for too. The groups are located at Gravesend, Dartford, Meopham.

One to One Support

Many carers have difficulty in coming to terms with the different feelings they may experience throughout their caring role such as guilt, anger, frustration and the many losses they may feel. Talking through these feelings with a counsellor will help.

Respite

ADSS day care, befriending and support at home services for people with dementia also provide respite to their carers giving them a much needed break from their caring role.
